Terry Fallis
Canada
Terry Fallis received a university degree in Engineering, but went straight into politics working as an assistant to Cabinet Minsiters at Queen's Park and in Ottawa. He is currently the president of his own PR company in Toronto. He is also the 2008 winner of the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour, for his novel The Best Laid Plans, beating out the likes of Will Ferguson and Douglas Coupland. A wickedly funny satire of Ottawa-politics with a cheeky premise, The Best Laid Plans reveals what would happen if a good and honest person who didn't care about being re-elected actually got elected to Parliament.
