Souvankham Thammavongsa

Souvankham Thammavongsa is a recipient of the CAA/Book Television Emerging Writer Award and was editor of big boots, a zine made for and by women of colour. Her award-winning debut book of poetry, Small Arguments, began as handmade chapbooks and was described by Dionne Brand as “a delicate and graceful hand naming the fragile materials of poetry.” Found, her most recent poetry publication, was inspired by a scrapbook her father kept in the family’s early years spent at a Lao refugee camp in Thailand.
